The worlds largest brewery you've probably never heard of...
You've probably not heard of them, but you’ve no doubt drunk some of their beers - in fact we’ve got a few in our tasting packs. In this blog we explore Anheuser-Busch InBev (or AB InBev for short).
If i said they were the world’s biggest brewer with annual sales in excess of GBP 40billion you’re still probably none the wiser, but with about 500 brands ion their range spanning 100 countries you can see why this giant have cornered the market.
When you consider the humble beginnings over 800 years ago with Leffe beer being brewed by Belgian monks, it’s hard to believe such global brands as Becks, Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois would be in their repertoire in this day and age.
This has been largely helped with some clever mergers and acquisitions over the years and of recent prominence since the turn of the century initially with the merger of Interbrew and Ambev, then Anheuser-Busch then joined to create "AB InBev"
Whilst AB InBev might not be the name that jumps out, when you look at some of the brands mentioned above, plus some of those 'local' you will see in supermarkets (Camden Town Brewery, Goose Island, Brahma to name a few), it's easy to see why AB InBev are cornering the beer market.
